Other than breeds genetically predisposed to develop CKD (such as Persians and Exotic and related breeds suffering from PKD), it is estimated that about 30% of cats over 10 years of age are affected. An early diagnosis of CKD and a proper treatment can offer the cat a better quality of life.

CATScale could guide you in identifying CKD in your cat but it should not be intended as a diagnostic tool. Your Veterinarian is the only one who can get the final diagnosis of CKD and can advise you how to manage it properly.
