Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is extremely common in cats. Other than breeds genetically predisposed to develop CKD (such as Persians and Exotic and related breeds suffering from PKD), it is estimated that about 30% of cats over 10 years of age are affected. CKD is often difficult to identify, especially in the early stages of the disease, if specific tests are not performed (to find out more, visit www.petkidneydisease.com).
An early diagnosis of CKD and a proper treatment can offer the cat a better quality of life.
CATScale could guide you in identifying CKD in your cat but it should not be intended as a diagnostic tool. Your Veterinarian is the only one who can get the final diagnosis of CKD and can advise you how to manage it properly.
CATScale has been developed by DCH program together with Italian Universities and Veterinary practitioners.
CATScale is available on iOS and Windows devices (PC, tablet, Mac and iPad), optimized for Chrome (1 and upwards), Firefox (3 and upwards), Safari (4 and upwards) and Opera.
